"Duane started 1950 with the Yankees and appeared in four games with them, with no wins or losses, and had an earned run average of 1.29. He was traded to the Browns, and in 24 games won three and lost five.
He began in baseball with the Yankees' Newark farm team in 1946 and had an 11-10 record that year. He divided 1947 between Newark and Portland and was with Portland in 1948. Duane started 1949 with Newark and was up to the Yanks after 17 games."
