1951 Yankee of the Past: Mel Queen

"Mel took part in 33 games during 1950, with a record of five wins and 12 losses.
He began in 1938 and split 1941 among three clubs of the Yankee chain- Newark, Kansas City and Binghamton. He was with the same three in 1942 before joining the parent club toward the close of the season. With Kansas City in 1943, Mel started 1944 with Newark, then came up to the Yankees a second time.
After military service in 1945, Mel was with the Yanks in 1946 and the Pirates during 1947."
